Róbert László Bácsi puts to display the groups who experience flow during their everyday lives. Most of us would feel free as soon as we leave society’s conventions, but more often than not, feeling free accompanies a sport activity. Sports certainly helps this sort of fulfilment. The Hungarian photographer tries to show us how more and more people break free from civilisation, and go on to live a life close to nature — and far from wealth.
Bácsi was following nomadic surfers in the South of France during October 2013. During this work he realised that surfing is not only a sport for these people: it’s a lifestyle that helps the surfers feel free. They live in a van while travelling cross-country, find small jobs everywhere or support themselves working on the Internet. They live on a minimal resources, but it’s all fine as long as the freedom is there. They are 21-century hippies, who are, as they say about themselves: following the Sun.
Our friends at MuseoMarket believe that freedom can be transferred through photography, and the experience is truly captured in the pictures. To bring the photos home, head on over to MuseoMarket.com to buy them.
(By the way, Yakuzuzu is not paid for this post. We love the photos though, and love to give credit where credit’s due.)
